CLASSIFICATIONS & FEES
Upon receipt of all entries, the 2010 LightHouse Awards Committee will determine judging categories for each entry. Categorization will be based on the information below. Please read carefully to understand what information you will need to provide for each of your entries and what award(s) each of your entries is eligible to receive.**

CUSTOM HOME ENTRIES:
Categories for all Custom Home entries are based on the completed cost of construction and all fees* excluding cost of lot/land.

SEMI-CUSTOM HOME ENTRIES:
Limited to production builder companies building constructing multiple homes using a model floor plan approach.

Categories for all Semi-Custom Home entries are based on the published sales price as of June 1, 2010. (Must provide proof of published sales price for each entry.)

Entry Award Categories

• BEST OVERALL: Highest visual appearance and overall craftsmanship
• BEST FEATURE OR DETAIL: Distinguished feature or detail. (Feature or detail determined by judging panel.)
• BEST KITCHEN: Superior installation, function & design of fixtures, appliances, cabinets, countertops, lighting, flooring, wall finishes, ceiling & trim.
• BEST EXTERIOR CONSTRUCTION: Finest exterior features–to include finish, roofing, windows, doors, soffit, fascia, porches, patios and decks.
• BEST BATH: Superior installation, function and design of fixtures, cabinets, countertops, lighting, flooring, wall finishes, ceiling and trim.

Early Bird Entry Fee: $400 • Standard Entry Fee: $500

REMODELING ENTRIES
Full Remodel Entry Award Categories:

• BEST OVERALL: Highest visual appearance and overall craftsmanship
• BEST FEATURE OR DETAIL: Distinguished feature or detail. (Feature or detail determined by judging panel.)
• BEST KITCHEN: Superior installation, function and design of fixtures, appliances, cabinets, countertops, lighting, flooring, wall finishes, ceiling and trim.
• BEST EXTERIOR CONSTRUCTION: Finest exterior features -- to include finish, roofing, windows, doors, soffit, fascia, porches, patios and decks.
• BEST BATH: Superior installation, function and design of fixtures, cabinets, countertops, lighting, flooring, wall finishes, ceiling and trim.

Full Remodel Entry Fee Early Bird Entry: $400 • Standard Entry: $500

Partial Remodeling Award Categories

• BEST OVERALL: Highest overall remodeled design, creativity, floor plan function, appointments, use of materials and use of space.
• BEST INNOVATION OF SPACE: Notable creativity and modification of function exerted in remodel of space.
• HIGHEST DEGREE OF DIFFICULTY: Distinguished level of skill and degree of difficulty exerted in remodel of space.

Partial Remodel Entry Fee Early Bird Entry: $300 • Standard Entry: $400
(Based on 1 room – i.e. bath, kitchen or bonus room/special project) $50 per additional room (limited to 2 additional rooms)

GREEN HOME ENTRIES:

Categories for all Green Home entries are based on the completed cost of construction and all fees* excluding cost of lot/land. All entries must include proof of green building certification (i.e. copy of Earthcraft, LEED, NAHB etc. certificate) and “blower-door” test results.

• BEST OVERALL: Based on innovative and creative solutions to sustainability with emphasis on minimizing waste, maximizing renewable products and techniques, maximizing energy efficiency, maximizing water efficiency, creating healthy indoor air quality, maximizing reclaimed and recycled materials and minimizing use of virgin materials.
• BEST ACHIEVEMENT IN ENERGY EFFICIENCY:
  Distinguished use of energy efficient building techniques and proven attainments of energy efficiency.

Green Home Entry Fee Early Bird Entry: $300 • Standard Entry: $400 Add-on Option: $200
