HOW TO ENTER
To begin entry, applicant must go onto site and create a user name and password. An online entry submission is required for every home entered and MUST include a completed subcontractors and suppliers listing (also online).
Payment for each online entry must be received by the HBA no later than close of business on the specified entry deadline. (July 31, 2009 for early bird entries and August 14, 2009 for regular entries.)
ENTRY NOTEBOOK: A black three-ring “Entry Notebook” must be submitted to the HBA for each entry that has been completed online (one entry per notebook). Entry notebooks should be delivered to the Hilton Head Area Home Builders Association by August 14, 2009 and must include the following items:
ONLINE ENTRY FORM: A printed copy of completed online entry form should be included at the front of Entry Notebook.
PROJECT STATEMENT: A project statement (200 to 500 words in length) describing the entry, the builder/remodeler’s scope of work, and any aspects of the home/project that may be of special interest should accompany each entry. Green Home entries should base their project statement on the criteria listed in the “judging” section of this brochure.
PROFESSIONAL QUALITY COLOR PHOTOS: Entrants are required to provide at least six professional-quality, color photographs for each entry – both in print and electronic format. Photographs provided must include all of the following: exterior front, exterior rear, kitchen, master bath and any special features noted in Project Statement. Printed photos can simply be printed on paper or low-cost photo paper and inserted into sheet protectors (high-end printing not necessary). Photos must be identified on back with company name and entry address. Each photo must also be saved at 300 dpi, in a .jpg file format, placed on a disc and included with notebook. The HBA will provide entrants a list of photographers upon request.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS FOR REMODELING, REHAB, OR RENOVATION PROJECTS: All remodeling, rehabilitation or renovation projects should have before-and-after photographs, preferably taken from the same angle.
PROJECT MARKETING MATERIALS: Please include any related marketing materials for company and/or entry.
*All Semi-Custom entries must include a copy of an advertisement that provides proof of published sales price as of June 1, 2009.
