CLASSIFICATIONS & FEES
Upon receipt of all entries, the 2011 LightHouse Awards Committee will determine judging categories based on the type of entry and contract cost of construction or remodel. Please read instructions below and online carefully to understand what information you will be required to provide for each of your entries.

NEW HOME ENTRIES:
Competition categories for all New Home entries are based on the final contracted cost of construction, excluding cost of lot/land. The final contracted cost of construction should be the full amount paid/owed by the client, less lot cost (if applicable), at completion of build.*

New Home Entry Award Categories

BEST OVERALL:
Highest visual appearance and overall craftsmanship.

BEST KITCHEN:
Superior installation, function and design of all kitchen fixtures, appliances, cabinets, countertops, lighting, flooring, wall finishes, ceiling and trim.

BEST EXTERIOR:
Superior construction, function and design of all exterior features including, finish, roofing, windows, doors, soffit, fascia, porches, patios, decks, landscape and hardscape.

BEST BATH:
Superior installation, function and design of all bathroom fixtures, cabinets, countertops, lighting, flooring, wall finishes, ceiling and trim.

Early Bird Entry Fee: $400 • Standard Entry Fee: $500

FULL REMODEL ENTRIES:
Competition categories for all Full Remodel entries are based on the final contracted cost of remodel. The final contracted cost of remodel should be the full amount paid/owed by the client at completion of remodel.*

Competition categories for all Partial Remodel entries are based on the final contracted cost of partial remodel. The final contracted cost of remodel should be the full amount paid/owed by the client at completion of remodel.*

BEST OVERALL:
Highest overall remodeled design, creativity, floor plan function, appointments, use of materials and use of space.

BEST INNOVATION OF SPACE:
Notable creativity and modification of function exerted in remodel of space.

HIGHEST DEGREE OF DIFFICULTY:
Distinguished level of skill and degree of difficulty exerted in remodel of space.BEST OVERALL: Highest overall remodeled design, creativity, floor plan function, appointments, use of materials and use of space.

BEST INNOVATION OF SPACE:
Notable creativity and modification of function exerted in remodel of space.

HIGHEST DEGREE OF DIFFICULTY:

Partial Remodel Entry Fees: Early Bird-$300 (for 1 room remodel) • Standard-$400 (for 1 room remodel)
$50 per additional room (limited to 2 additional rooms)

GREEN HOME ENTRIES:

BEST OVERALL:
Based on innovative and creative solutions to sustainability with emphasis on minimizing waste, maximizing renewable products and techniques, maximizing energy efficiency, maximizing water efficiency, creating healthy indoor air quality, maximizing reclaimed and recycled materials and minimizing use of virgin materials.

All Green Home entries must include proof of green building certification from a nationally recognized program and “blower-door” test results.

*The HBA will require a minimum of three Green Home entry submissions prior to judging. All entry fees will be returned and judging will not occur if entry submission does not meet this minimum requirement.

Green Home Entry Fees: Early Bird-$300 • Standard-$400 Add-on Option: $200
(Add-on option available to certified green homes already entered into New Home or Full Remodel entry categories.)
